About us

The residence "Sila ziedu" is located in a 19th-century house, watched over by century-old oak and apple trees beneath a starry sky. Fog and wind drift across the fields, adorned with meadowsweet, autumn leaves, and deer tracks in the snow. The silence is occasionally broken by the calls of cranes and swans. A place for creativity and peace.

Artists, musicians, writers, discoverers, travelers,  those inspired by life or seeking peace, are invited to stay, create, and renew.

The residence offers two fully furnished and well equipped apartments, each suited for one to two people. Be alone, if you wish—just you and nature, a pen, brushes, a violin, a guitar, or a world map. Or, if you prefer, share your creativity with others—in the library, in the garden, or in the hall.  A harpsichord, a weaving loom, countless pencils, books, and wool yarn await your ideas.

The residence is offered by the non profit association "Purvītis Kurzemē" (Purvītis in Kurland). Purvītis, Mister Vilhelms Purvītis, if only he had been here, would have found the landscapes around the house worth painting all year round. This is what award-winning artist  Ritums Ivanovs recognized during his first visit. So the association was named in honor of Purvītis and continues to share his sense for the beauty of nature and art.

Looking forward to welcome you at "Sila ziedu"!
